Vladimir’s love for adventure and travel is brought to life through his photography. An avid traveller, Vladimir’s diverse schooling, varied work and wide range of skills have opened doors to places and people that others might not encounter. His genuine love of life lends a unique perspective to his work, allowing him to capture the subject distinctively and to tell stories in a way that draws in the audience. Vladimir was raised in a small Russian village just outside of Moscow. He began a maritime career studying at Seaman’s school then working as ship’s Boson in 1994. His love of travel and interest in wilderness led him to take a position on passenger expedition vessels in both the Arctic and Antarctic. From Boson, Vladimir was offered a position in logistics, fixing outboard engines, organizing cargo and all other operations. After studying and becoming fluent in English, Vladimir became an expedition guide, driving guests by inflatable boat around the ice and wildlife of the Polar Regions. During such adventures, Vladimir has been able to perfect his craft of photography and capture matchless wildlife and scenery. After over 300 trips and 25 seasons at the poles, Vladimir’s photo collection has blossomed and developed to what we see today. When not on ships Vladimir enjoys travelling through…. …Where he also uses the camera lens to capture the beauty of his surroundings. As a published artist, Vladimir’s photos have been featured in many magazines and his Moscow photo exhibit of polar environments received high praise. When not on ships, Vladimir is currently writing stories to educate children about the wildlife of Antarctica.
